Well, my quest for the rumored full-length version of the Phillip Glass remix of S'Express "Hey Music Lover" was fruitless. There seems to be a ~4 minute version and that was it. I wish I still had whatever music mag reported the existence of an epic version at the time. The next thing I'd like to obtain, and an MP3 will do nicely, is the A Guy Called Gerald produced, pre-Opus III version of Kirsty Hawkshaw (?) singing "It's A Fine Day". I know this one exists, because an IDM listmember played the record for me in 1995. - Mike ______________________________________________________________________ Mike Brown / Hyperreal | Director, Hyperreal Music Archive PO Box 61334 | http://www.hyperreal.org/music/ Denver CO 80206-8334 USA | hire me? my info: www.hyperreal.org/~mike/

I don't think it was Kirsty Hawkshaw singing. Here's the one I've got: Artist: Jane Title: It's a Fine Day (produced by A Guy Called Gerald) Label: Cherry Red Records Cat.: 12CHERRY124 Year: 1992 Tracks: (a) It's a Fine Day (b) It's a Fine Day (7" edit) (b) It's a Fine Day (original a cappella version) -- /\/)ark headspin - http://www.sonance.demon.co.uk/

Ahh, that's why I (?)'d Kirsty. That must be it, though. Would you be willing to MP3 the a-side for me at 192 kbps? Is there anything you're looking for from around that time period? - Mike ______________________________________________________________________ Mike Brown / Hyperreal | Director, Hyperreal Music Archive PO Box 61334 | http://www.hyperreal.org/music/ Denver CO 80206-8334 USA | hire me? my info: www.hyperreal.org/~mike/

I didn't mean to cc: that to IDM. Sorry.

I know this A Guy track...came out in 92, white label only. Super breaky, early Subbase jungle, right? I've been looking for it since then, and no one's even seen it. I heard it from a DJ-friend, about the same time he got in two copies of that ill-fated "Hey Jude" white label. Managed to get me grubbies on one of those, though :) -laz mike@hyperreal.org wrote:

Ill-fated? It's horribly tacky, but I love it. The one I've got is "On A Ragga Tip" and "Hey Jude" fused together into one cheesy mess.

Yes, true, but then Yolk's "Bish Bosh," which came out around the same time, is just as loveably cheesy due to that A-ha sample. Priceless, both of them... Andrew Hime wrote:

Definitely... I'll have to dig up that Speed Limit compilation and listen to that again when I get the chance.
