Can anyone give me some info on the Detroit Escalator Co.? I picked up a 12" at Record Time while in Detroit last week, and it's some wicked shit, especially considering it seems to have been released about 2 years ago. I'm wondering if they've got anything else available, what it might be, etc. Greg

Detroit Escalator Co does some supreme detroit ambient techno & electronica. DEC is the guise of detroit producer/writer Neil Ollivera. Neil has released an album on the UK Ferox label called "Soundtrack 313" as well as a few limited 12"s on his own Detroit Escalator Co label. Currently DEC is working on a new album called "Black Buildings." Neil sent me some of the new tracks and i've been playing them on the inaudible show for a month or so. If you like the mellower works of John Beltran, Carl Craig, Derrick May, Sean Deason, and Plastikman then you'll love the stuff by DEC. Neil has also written a futuristic novel called "Reality Slap." For more info on The Detroit Escalator Co project, label and novel check the DEC website at: http://www.detroitescalator.com/ -->-Lance--- p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
