You know, I was almost going to ask a question about REQ, but I didnt wanna risk any off-topic flames ( I hardly ever see Skint discussed) . I picked up the "8 models in a Sauna" 12" and I absolutely love it! Does anyone know of the rest of REQs stuff on Skint is this good? (does he have anything NOT on Skint?) I highly recommend this to IDMers that enjoy dirty hiphop beats! "WHAT YOU GOT HERE IS.... A WHOLE MISERABLE...*SUBCULTCHA*!" - a killer REQ sample I wish I could get their RealAudio to stream thru our firewall, but for some reason they keep security pretty high around here! ;) ernie Ernesto Ikerd, (817) 763-4795 Company Graphics, Dept 17 Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircaft Systems Fort Worth, Texas

Here is the Skint discography: SKINT 7 Req's Garden EP 12" Vinyl SKINT 14 Subculture 12" Vinyl BRASSIC 3 One LP/CD BRASSIC 7 Frequency Jams LP/CD One is their best release imo. I wish I could say that Frequency Jams is as good as One, but it's too far out... i.e. I'm not sure I get his message. It's a great lo-fi sound collage, but there is too much of that, not enough melody to hum along. I'm not aware of any other stuff from Req. Anybody else? -- Sebastien Dalphond, b. eng. Yep, there's a single on Ultimate Dilemma, and I think a track on the UD comp from last year. Joe

just picked up an EP by The Runaways on Ultimate Dilemma. dope instrumental (tr)/(h)ip-hop, with two backing electro mixes. i have no experience with Ultimate Dilemma, or The Runaways for that matter. anyone? .jeff / chris. .do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. \-. you may both be wrong .-/

From what I understand, UD is run by one of the Stereo MC's and tends toward beat oriented abstract instrumental hip-hop and jungle. Off the top of my head, I'd recommend the Runaways album, the Me'laaz single, and the latest single by the Illdependents along with the UD compilation that was released last year. The comp's probably the best place to start. Any of the singles are certainly worth picking up if you see them used... Joe
