http://www.brainwashed.com/gto will tell you everything you need to know. Assuming, of course, that you can get through to Brainwashed (it's been up & down like a yo-yo this week due to some IP changes at its ISP). Try every day or so and you should get on eventually. Greg

really? wow. props to the canadians. i feel the wells/newman powerhouse to be one of the most underrated in the history electronic music. necessary recordings: greater than one : _all the masters licked me_ (1987; side effects records (deleted, sorry)) _duty and trust_ (1991; ROIR) tricky disco : whatever you can find: it's all real old and deleted. GTO : _tip of the iceberg_ (1993; react) _data-trax volume 1_ & _...volume 2_ (1994/1995; react) _kardiophunk and the seventh wave_ (1996; react) technohead : whatever you can find; they're all deleted. john + julie : _red alert_ (1993; dataflow; deleted) TD5 : whatever you can find; they're all deleted. also, not newman/wells, but there's signs ov chaos. it's what michael wells did after lee newman passed on. my picks: _frankenscience (urban cyberphunk)_ (1996; earache) _scanner v signs ov chaos_ (1997; earache) is pretty good, too. half is scanner remixed by signs ov chaos; the other half the other way around. so if you're unsure about buying it, look at it this way: it's half scanner, too (another artist really worth your time and effort). now, i'm sure we'll get some people saying that the newman/wells in the '90's got really silly on the techno tip. well, i say, so? it's well done and damned fun. i'm willing to admit i like some crap raver techno of the early '90's. maybe it's the memories; i don't know. but these two were really good. buy what you can: practiucally all has been deleted. * #### a disturbance in a system. #### laerm. @voicenet.com #### we decide what's wrong or right, we'd rather lose than fight/we're going down/without us you don't get no kicks, without us you do not exist/we are going down

I believe this was deleted since Sony didn't much care for the fact that there was a track entitled "Michael Jackson". Than again, there hasn't seemed to be any problem with the Fatboy Slim album which contains a track with the same name. so perhaps my info was wrong. Whatever the case, for those of you in Toronto who'd like to pick this up cheap, Rotate This on Queen has a couple of vinyl copies in their sale crates (a couple of unlabeled crates of records under the racks of electronic/techno/etc. vinyl) for 5 bucks a pop. Well worth it. Greg

i kinda wondered if there'd be any quote-unquote action taken against it. i never really could tell if it was tribute, insult, or other, too. * #### a disturbance in a system. #### laerm. @voicenet.com #### we decide what's wrong or right, we'd rather lose than fight/we're going down/without us you don't get no kicks, without us you do not exist/we are going down
