cd - kris kross - whatever it was called... their first cd, and i still think those two were better than notorious BIG. needless to say i dont have it anymore... vinyl - first thing i bought - pearl jam - vitalogy - because it was limited... but the first thing i bought to listen to, when i got my 1200, was gescom ska02,03,07, and Photek - 7th samurai. (at bent crayon, of course. there would be NO way i would have gotten into IDM without that store. thank goodness i live by it. thank you John, even though you aren't on the list. I still would rather pay a bit more there to buy WARP releases than use WARPmart.) those albums are still 4 of my favorites. the cd that got me into IDM. Autechre - Amber. why is this so damn good? who knows. i can thank Mtv for getting me into IDM, hilariously... i saw second bad vilbel on AMP and decided i needed an autechre album... i went to Best Buy (!) and bought Amber, which somehow they had. and went home, and then said - wow. now.. you know how it is.. 50 records in 10 months (after the purchase of a turntable, who would have considered that purchase listening to "popular" music?), and something like 55 cd's. :) over a year on the list.. what a crazy ride. at least i know what music is. shane dont know why i wrote this, maybe its just to tell a yarn about myself..
