I've had the Rain Tree Crow album for ages and love the organic instrumentation and the "space" on it. I recently picked up 2nd hand "Changing Hands" (1997) by Jansen, Barbieri and Takemura and although it's growing on me like mould, there must be better stuff out there by the ex-Japan lads. Can anyone point me at discographies and give me any recommendations for stuff by Jansen, Barbieri, Karn, Sylvian etc. either solo or as collaborations, along the lines of RTC? It's a crying shame there wasn't an RTC 2. Ta, A. OnNow: State of the Nu-Art Vol.2 \ / - + - mailto:andrewj@mindless.com / \ http://www.zip.com.au/~andrewj/

Jansen and Barbieri's 'Stories across borders' (?) is very good. Sylvian's solo albums are all worthwhile in some way; my favourite is 'Gone to Earth' - particularly the second instrumental LP. His two collaborations with Holger Czukay 'Plight and Premonition' and 'Flux and Mutability' are excellent radio noise/ambient collections. There was also that tape thing which contained (amongst others) the music to the Steel Cathedrals video. Not sure whether you'd count these as being 'along the lines of RTC'. This is all quickly-remembered information so apologies for inaccuracy. No doubt someone will etc. adam
