First, just wondering if anyone knows about the Jega "Type Xero" EP that's supposed to come out soon (per Brainwashed Releases) on Planet Mu. How about the Jega LP? Second, I work at my college radio station, WUVT (as a DJ and in promotions/web stuff). Our selection of quality electronic stuff is very limited. The best stuff we get is domestic Aphex, some Astralwerks (Mu-Ziq), some Ninja Tune, etc. Anyway, I'm going to be handling the electronic music next semester (starting in August) and was wondering if anyone out there knows how to get the smaller labels to send my station promos. I've tried a little already without any results. For example, I emailed both Schematic and Silent (to get a copy of the Skampler for my station) and neither have replied. How do I get them to believe that I'm not just some kid who wants free shit? Any help is appreciated. BTW, I'm interested in not only new stuff, but back catalog too. Third, I got to see Phoenecia/Takeshi/Jeswa and some other Schematic/Chocolate Ind acts the other night at a club in Washington DC. Anyone else there? It was cool. I didn't get to stay the whole night, though. I know I heard Phoenecia/Soul Oddity and (I think) Jeswa DJing. I also got to meet the guy who runs Chocolate Industries--nice guy, BTW. I should've asked HIM about promos, but I was a bit fucked up at the time. :) Oh, the Sonic Soul/Modern Music guys were there, too (they hosted it). Enough rambling. yeh. wicked evening. josh had another dj set upstairs after metic played. lots of fun, and especially wicked to see a show of this quality in america, other than miami. "a dream is worth a thousand pictures, the mouths of lampreys a thousand more..."
