What are these guys like? I just realized the other day that these guys did the title track of "Synthetic Fury" with DJ Spooky. That song's real heavy drum and bass, but not really drillish, right? Panacea like that regularly? np: Rubberoom "Architechnology" I did not know hip hop could get this dark and scary. Scarier than Ae's "TearTear" if its video was "Come to Daddy." Pretty cool. and Skit Free so far. _________________________________ Adam Roesch / roesch@augsburg.edu University of Idaho / Moscow / ID / USA Visit my Fila Brazillia/Pork Recordings fan site: http://dogbert.augsburg.edu/~roesch/pork/ "Because success needs killing" TRICKY

panacea is just one guy. well, he's enormously fat, so someone might confuse him for two, but... basically he does boring, distorted drum n bass. run your dnb through a distortion pedal, and wah la. he's okay now and again. - wells oliver / s0ewoliv@titan.vcu.edu

Scene in Modulations that made me laugh out loud (maybe aided by the fact that I understood his original German without having to wait for the subtitles) but he was finding it hard to express what he wanted to say - basically using rubbish bins for drums and just THRASHING the hell out of them. That sorts him out, sort of :-) Actually, try the Position Chrome compilation - including Heinrich at Hart - on Force Inc. 1997 - for an introduction to what it's about. Yes. Right up "our" collective alley too. Everybody and his dog is in it - sort of clips and interviews and STUFF flying by you real quick - I want this on video to go back and pause button it all over the show. I * np : Ferox : Adventures in Technosoul

Yep, came out last summer. It's available on video at http://www.modulations.com. The movie is pretty much one of the first legitimate documentaries attempting to document the history of electronic music in one foul swoop. It's pretty successful... lack of depth in particular genres is made up with the sheer amount of information presented. And you get to see (I think) Sean Booth of Autechre pick his nose during the interview. Read more about Iara Lee (the director), Modulations, and Caipirinha Records at http://come.to/bleepbloopweb. I have an interview posted there. Aaron np: Source Direct "Exorcise the Demons" Just a warm up.... thinking of going to the show in Chicago tonight...
