Madonna Ciccone. It's her real name. Her Italian American Catholic parents thought it was a good name. It's the real birth name of millions of catholics around the world, as is Jesus and Mary and Peter and Paul and lots of other mythical/biblical characters. - Cf

Okay...personally I don't care where she got the name and I'm tired of the thread - so keeping in the spirit of what I just said, I'll patch this in which came across the ambient list......

I didn't write it, can't verify it, don't care. And, btw, I think Zenon's point was that he thought whoever she really is uses imagery that some people hold dear in a way which is a bit insensitive - a point which would be a little silly to argue against, IMHO. Now, let's all slip on that secreted copy of "Bedtime Stories" and put this thread to sleep....maybe? ;-p jeff

Chris & Jeff, Fuck Madonna. Actually, alot of people would like to. Instead of talking about her name, lets talk about how many people want to, or have screwed the "material girl, Madonna. That's what she wants anyway, isn't it? Her name was chosen as a cliche to oppositly reflect her true character....Madonna~Virgin~....Virgin~Sex Object....Sex Object~Act Like A Porn Queen....Get it? This Has to be better than sending 10 email's about her name. Chill jeff wrote:

Instead of discussing Madonna's name or how great she looks or how we all want to fuck her. Let's keep the discussion intelligent. Doesn't anyone remember that the "I" in IDM stands for "Intelligent"! Talking about her new single, its hard to listen to it without a bias towards a pop superstar. Its actually pretty fine (honestly). Although there had to be moments of catchy pop formula, the record showcases a lot of William Orbit. If I did not know it was Madonna, I would have thought One Dove have finally released a record.

Based on this thread, I'd say the "I" is for "Idiots", as in "Idiots Discussing the Mundane". Enough already! Either discuss how IDM Orbit's contribution is, or don't discuss Primadonna's album at all. I'm looking forward to finding out how well the "Karaoke" button on my stereo works on this album... Che
