I dunno if this the right place for this, but I'm trying for the life of me to figure out how d'n'b is produced. I know that it's a combination of loops and individual sampled drum hits, all sequenced together using a software sequencer on a computer. But beyond that I'm lost. When do you use a loop vs. a single hit? Basically, I'm listening to Mu-Ziq stuff right now, trying to figure out how Mikey P does it... any tutorials appreciated! -jimg --skoop@slackers.net --http://www.slackers.net/~skoop

First, switch the power switch on your sampler to "ON". The unit should then be ready to use. If nothing happens, check the power lead is correctly inserted in both the wall socket and sampler's power input socket. Everything OK? Then let's make some drum and bass! Alternatively, spend five years working it all out yourself and come up with something far more original and interesting than all the other rent-a-bukems out there. -- <---HEATsink---? np:g-man

Sample James Brown songs, loop, play one octave higher, and play random basslines over top. I know I'm going to regret having said this come next year when no one will buy my releases. -- andrij.

Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing when i read the original post. He should try and work out how you might go about it without copying/imitating other people's work, you may even stumble across something new and interesting. -- Ben Coffer Hybrid Productions http://www.hybridgame.demon.co.uk/
