Apparently Beaumont Hannant is playing FREQUENCY this FRI. along with Electric Skychurch (live) Variance (live) some MOONSHINE Dj's (oh yeah, I can't wait) (213) 960-5516 $10 before 10pm/$15 after..... How BH got teamed up with this gig, I haven't a clue. I usually stay away from things related to J. Bentley, but Beaumont Hannant? I'd go anywhere to see him, even if he is spinning. ANy local IDM'ers been to this FREQUENCY thing? I've seen this Variance dude play live, if you wanna call it live; he's got this hidden CD player in his rack hidden underneath a few effect processors, hmmmmm? Maybe Beaumont doesn't have problems with elitism or the assumption that somehow it's beneath one's dignity to play at Jason Bentley's club? RDJ just flaked on flying over here to do radio/record label promo stuff this week. He would have been spinning at Frequency had he come here. Would you still have had a problem with it then?

Um, yeah. I saw Talvin Singh spin there, among other people. Enjoyed it quite a bit, in fact. Then again, I don't break out in hives at the mention of "Jason Bentley" ...

Too bad, because Electric Skychurch are a good live band and John Kelley and Brian are excellent DJ's. Well worth $10 before 10 PM if you ask me ... For the other 5 of you in L.A. that give a fuck, Beaumont Hannant will also be (presumably) spinning at Swirl this Wednesday; it's at The World in Hollywood (7070 Hollywood Blvd.; 310.842.6475). (Apologies to the IDM'ers who don't live near Los Angeles and who could give a shit about who's coming here (-: ) - Greg

if anyone has info whether he'll be doing any idm-type shows while here in la, please post. he'll also be at the other wonderful LA weekly, swirl, on wednesday - of which flyers were spotted at local 7-Elevens... no joke. also, there are rumors mr. james is supposed to be in town, but it seems it was unlikely he was going to make it. is he going to be around? if there was a previous post - sorry - haven't been able to follow closely. a.tøm.atick .sig .dig .oog. .sti. .mul. .eye. ö
