This has been brought up many times before, and the Orb affiliation was evidentaly a rumor. A pressing rumor it was though as the "Wish You Were Here" remixes I bought even had a "remixed by the Orb" sticker on it. The only Orb related evidence was a PF tune with Little Fluffy Clouds mixed over the top (very poorly I might add). I consistently see the "Wish You Were Here" mixes (and a few of the other ones as well) for $18-$20 US. Bottom line... I didn't find anything special about the music and wish I would have spent $20 on something else. Rating the "Wish You Were Here" mixes as an Orb fan, I thought they were junk and I would suspect that a PF would have similar opinions. Maybe a official PF remix disc would be of better quality? MC

Saw at a local shop: Meddle Wish you were here Momentary Lapse of Reason and maybe a fourth all ltd edition TRANCE remixes I remember the Wish you were here having ORB remix and I think it came out like '94. _Momentary_ would go well with anyone's IDM collection. The artwork does NOT contain any remix info, but you can here certain elements of your favorite artists. The ORB was the most obvious. SO SOMEONE PLS TELL ME WHAT THESE ARE WORTH. NO I won't tell you what he's selling them for (i'm afraid to;) What's the most I should pay for a single one of these? if I can afford to I may buy ALL 4. I assume these are *extremely* hard to find, but what do i know.... hurry with the answers, -0 np: Metal Beast ep (isophlux)

Um, aren't they basically the straight tracks, with a trancey donk-donk-donk thrown on top? I do that at home on my turntables all the time. PF is especially easy to do it to, since the drummer (Nick Mason?) always used a click track. Besides, AFAIK, they're bootlegs. I'm waiting for a real remix job. I can imagine an Autechre reconstruction of Astronomy Domine, or whatever. Until then, I prefer the originals, thank you. BTW, anything after The Wall seems worthless to me, since it lacks Roger Waters' cynical edge. Dave Gilmore is a great guitarist and all, but he needs Waters to leaven his tendency to fall back on gorgeous guitar textures that don't mean a damn thing.
