sorry for the intrusion, but just wanted to let ppl know that this exists:
I'm sure most people here have been to #aphextwin on IRC to find that it's
dead 90% of the time, due to all of the ppl being from Finland and all being
idlers, but there is something more that you probably don't know.
The bot there, AFXbOT is equipped with some information about current things
going on.. Currently the only thing it has are the tour dates for the US
tour (just added today) and it has in the news the release date for Come to
Daddy.. In the future this will have EVERYTHING that I find out about Aphex
Twin from this list or anywhere else, so if you delete the posts with
release dates, or anything else pertaining to RDJ, you can check the channel
and read the #aphextwin news (the bot will tell you how)
the servers are: irc.pspt.fi and irc.stealth.net ..
if you don't like that idea, the bot can also be reached via telnet by
connecting to ellu.vaala.fi port 3334, and then you can read the news there.
note that some other IDM related things will be in the file area, which YOU
can contribute to by making your own account on the bot and dcc chatting to
the bot. there are help menus. If you don't know how to DCC CHAT then don't
worry about it. Once you are in the file area, it's just like an ftp site.
You can cd to different dirs and then DCC SEND files to the bot and they
will be put in the file directory you're currently in on the bot. I trust
you ppl to not be silly and upload lots of shit to wrong places and flood
the bot..
Note: The above feature of uploading files to the bot is only granted to
Finnish people because it costs the guy who owns this account money for all
Xfers that are from outside of Finland.
