Focus is a new label started by Clair who used to co-run Clear. This is the label's debut release. Haven't heard it yet myself, but reviews have been positive. it's a brilliant ep on the relatively new focus label out of the uk. the mystery artist (apparently from detroit) does an electro track, while the uk's CiM (known for releases on headspace, delsin, and others) and plus one (with a plaid connection if i remember correctly) and europe's aphelion and lackluster all contribute strong idm tracks. lackluster will have a full length out on focus soon. hope this helps. andrew duke :) ps was #1 on my march electronics chart. There's been some talk lately of the good old days of idm, when the artificial intelligence and A.R.T. comps were the shit. Well, for those who want some more of that sound, i imagine the compilation 12" on Focus records ought to do the trick. All the tracks are good, except maybe that acid track kinda -whatever. 4 out of 5 ain't bad, tho.
