hey, doesn't a software company... Steinburg(sp?) have a $199.00 program where you get 2 x 303's and an 808 directly on your computer??? I heard a tape of some kids (14 years old) at a local record shop, they said they did it in one night, and it sounded very impressive. I wondered what 2 nights would have sounded like. That would be the ReBirth RB-338 from Propellerhead Software. I've played around with their demo version, pretty damn cool! _________________________________________________ darrel best - http://www.compusmart.ab.ca/daz/ mailto:daz@compusmart.ab.ca

Speaking of rebirth action, does anyone have any tracks they've made with it on the IDM tip? I've looked around but all the places that offer them are stuffed full of crap techno and cheesy housey stuff. If there is enough interest and someone donates the server space I might be motivated to quickly throw together a page of IDM rebirth tracks. If you have: A. tracks you've made or B. server space let me know and I'll quickly get things hooked up. Please warn me and clear it with me first before you start flooding me with tracks :) People who download the free demo version will able able to listen to the tracks which are quite small in size. An interesting way to distribute music. Anyhow... cheers, _____ / ,-,_) /,_) (/ ReSH Live & Direct from the G-Spot, Orange County, California, USA http://www1.linkonline.net/fresh/

I've got some rebirth tracks in the works, just finishing them up, but they're not *just* rebirth. So they'd have to be compressed/streamed/whatever, something I know nothing about. For $175, you can't go wrong, even if you're intentions are just to noodle around, like basically mine are. It's a blast!!! the bass kittens album that i'm currently writing (working title: "125 BPM") has loads of rebirth stuff in it. none of the tracks are *exclusively* rebirth sounds tho... i'll make some mp3s tonight if i have time.

similar to modtrackers except without the samples, or rather, more like general midi, in a weird twisted way... :) anyone with a PC or Mac who hasn't at least checked out the demo is really missing out... head over to http://www.propellerheads.se/products/rebirth.html -- Jon Drukman jsd@gamespot.com SpotMedia Communications ...I was an infinitely hot and dense dot...
