grin, lighten up mate. I'm an asshole too, i'd be the first one to admit that. techno is to me, about music, not about the people that make it. Frankly, I am fed up with "I used to like you...but..." email. People like yourself, the fickle ones who change allegiance at the drop of a hat are no use at all. sadly, you're the spiritual equivalent of a wet paper bag. the music obviously hasn't worked for you. fine. ask for a refund, or exchange it for 'somebody' <emphasis> you *do* like. it's not about "fashion", or "being seen to be liked", its about making quality music that will enrich peoples lives in a ruthless uncaring corporate world. i wont be offended if you throw out all your BD records, (yeah, some people have threatened too), and never speak of me ever again. what you do, is up to you, was the point i was trying to make. maybe in retrospect i was blunt, and for that i apologise. What the fuck is happening to IDM? Someone apologizing (er, apologising)?!? And Ken Downie no less? Yikes, I almost fear impending critical discourse, conducted in a civilized manner. What boredom. =) ObIDM: Pick of the week is the Phuture Communications EP on Phuture Communications. Sounds like somebody likes SAW I and Electrosoma (B12) a lot. Same reverb drenched mellow electro feel - nice. Anybody know what Phuture Communications #1 was? Yeah it is sad. I for one will never listen to his music again due to his crap apology. (This is sarcasm, for those of you who just tuned in.) Is IDM moderated? I've noticed that some of my best jokes never make it here. Tragic really.

yeah folks, kindof what we expected. we fly 1/2 way round the world, put on the show of our lives, and not *one word* by way of review or critique makes it into here. c'est typique. Suffice to say that toronto has one of the best scenes going! imagine london 10 years ago, when music was about music, entertaining your friends, and having a good time....not how many records you can sell....or how intellectual your band's "posturing" is. To say that they restored my faith in music, would be an understatement... You can go ahead and ignore us all you want, we're not going to go away. Worse than that, we're going to rub your noses in it. I'm chilling in london for a week, then flying back to rip up the festival at winnipeg on the 13/14/15th. Its currently "bloody hot" over there, so pack yer shorts. IO CANADA! Actually, I read an amazing review of the show (plus of PWOG) on the ambient list... I would have loved to post a review, but more typical than the above stated is the plain fact that the show took place somewhere other than where I live (or even close to it, for that matter...) Does ANYONE know how one might hook up with an audio of the show? I'd love to tell everyone what I think (really did hear that it was AMAZING...) Supposedly all new material, material which was strictly for that show only... someone please say they have an audio =) __________________________________________ sfwd@sonic.net LToN DiY Noise.Ambient.Techno.Industrial HomeRecordings & Such 4 Cheap ($3) http://www.sonic.net/~brap/

Sorry Ken, but I live in Iowa and can't attend concerts telepathically. So does that mean all of Black Dog is back together? Or has there been a regrouping? Very little in the way of show reviews seem to come across IDM recently. I never heard how T.I.P. in San Francisco went on the 15th, and I probably never would have known about it if I wasn't out there earlier in the month. It seemed like we got half a dozen reviews of the Chemical Brothers in New York though.

I never got round to buying AI1....I bought the whole AI series first....then thought, well...most of the tracks i've already got from AI1 so can't be bothered to buy it. ...but i do have AI2 ...and I enjoy almost every single one, apart from perhaps Speedy J's which seems a little...hmm...basic maybe compared to the rest. -- Ben Coffer Hybrid Productions http://www.hybridgame.demon.co.uk/
