Attn NYC area IDM'ers (and anyone else)
I was in the city last week and went to the Whitney Museum's Biennial
show- it was pretty cool but there was one particular thing which cought
my interest in the lower level...
They have a 1 hour documentary called "Battle Sounds" which
chronicles the evolution of Hip Hop DJ culture. It is very interesting,
and some of the DJ antics/tricks are insane. It documents the creation of
'the scratch' and many other things. For anyone who likes techno DJ skills
but who hasn't seen much Hip Hop DJ trickery, you might want to see if you
can get ahold of this. I didn't get a chance to ask if it was available
commercially, does anyone have for more info on this?
