Ok, I must be living under a rock or not checking enough posts on the list, but last Friday I picked up Jedi Knights "New School Science". OH MY GAWD!!! What a f**king excellent record!! How did I ever get along w/ out it?Where have I been? This is truly music that speaks to the mind, body, and soul. I've played this cd numerous times and throughout the climax of "Solina (the Ascension)" and "Afterlife" my eyes are full of tears. Impossibly beautiful funky stuff. Ok, I know this album has been out for what, a year? I know all of you in the know have it, love it, live it. I know there have been numerous threads re: Jedi Knights. I know there is a Global Comm website that lists their numberous aliases, releases, ad nauseum. What I hope someone on the list can tell me, quickly, succinctly, IS:.......... 1.The Jedi Knights and Global Comm. are the same guys (for those that know the answer, this question must seem awfully stupid, but hey, I need clarification). 2.The important one....WHICH ONE DO I BUY NEXT (I have garnered that Reload "A collection of short stories" is an essential. Any educated lovers of Global Communication can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. I don't know how i skipped over these guys the past few years............ Peace, James

Your next purchase, if you don't already have it, should be '76 14' by Global Communication. After that, 'Short Stories' is probably your best bet, although several tracks on that one don't do much for me. doesn't matter. everything they have done is thoroughly essential, just get what you can find. Though if you can get the recent global comm EP 'the way' you're not doing too badly for a start the reload lp is nothing like jedi knights by the way. BUT don't let that stop you as it is one of the best records out there. black dog's bytes with sharp teeth is how i like to think of it

and I don't know how the idm list can get away with barely ever discussing them. they are the teachers as far as i'm concerned.. if you like solina, you should REALLY check out their chameleon ep on good looking, which is drum and bass about as perfect as anyone could make it. then of course you have the secret ingredients house eps, the jedi knights electro eps, the mod wheel trance eps, the recent reload ambient ep, and so on and so on.. no one out there is so prolific yet so consistently great (in my terribly important opinion). ss I said, get your hands on anything they've done, you won't be disappointed Cheerio!
