There is an interview with Tom Jenkinson in this weeks NME (5/4/97), apparently he has a beard because he can't be bothered shaving and he is suspicious of people with tidy beards! It's not a particularly informative interview. Nice velour top in the picture though. He is also playing at the essential music festival dance day in Brighton on the 24th of May in the MILLENIUM arena. Also playing that day are the Chemical Brothers, 808State, Orb, Bandulu, Springheel Jack, Planetary Assault Systems, The Advent and a whole load of other people. Jimi Tenor is playing on the "Roots" day (26th) as are Afrika Bambaata and Grandmaster Flash (tbc). Q. I taped a version of Papua New Guinea from the John Peel show years ago which does not appear on the 7 track 12". It has quite frantic beats and the bass line sounds like a huge spunky bass gun (best i can do, sorry). is this the extra track on the CD single? It is miles better than all the other mixes I've heard. wes.
