The fact that someone dislikes Pomme Fritz and Orbus Terrarum doesn't automatically imply that that person just wants to hear the band crank out clones of "Little Fluffy Clouds" for the next fifteen years. I like hearing bands progress -- it just happens that Pomme Fritz caught them progressing in a direction I wasn't interested in riding along for. (I enjoyed Orbus Terrarum, for what that's worth.) -- ::: Lazlo (lazlo@swcp.com; http://www.swcp.com/lazlo) ::: Internet Music Wantlists: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo/Wantlists

Indeed. I was going to say the same thing (I've not heard "Orbus Terrarum"). "Pomme Fritz" was far too aimless noodling for me. And when Laz and I saw them live last year at the Organic festival, they spent far too much time pissing about and noodling around, and not enough time playing actual 'choons, IMHO. I love The Orb and there were some occasional moments of brilliance, but I liked previous incarnations better. I'd be interested to hear "Orblivion", though. On now: Autechre "Chiastic Slide" - Greg

[snip] You know, I just got 'Orbus' the other week - I had the first two Orb CD's and had only heard negative things about 'Orbus'. So, it was pretty low on my list of things to listen to & spend cash on. But I managed to pick up a copy last week for AU$5, and bugger me if it hasn't been stuck in my CD player at work every day since then...I've played it more than UFOrb! 'Tri Repetae++' is the only other CD that I listen to at the moment as well as 'Orbus' (at least until I get 'Chiastic Slide' & 'Envane' sent over from the YooKay). PS Did anyone find out where to get Ae's 'Anti' EP (question was asked the other day) Cheers, Geoff
