I'd heard the rumors, but I guess it's true: Spooky in the Biennial? Yuk. I guess it figures. I can't wait to read the "artist's statement". As a consolation, this months ArtForum disses him but good. In a review of DJ Shadow, they say something like "not to be confused with DJ Spooky, who is a blowhard". This is interesting because ArtForum used to love him enough to give him a feature-length article about a year ago. They should put WE in the Biennial and fucking blast it everywhere, not just the elevators. -Chris Fahey

I saw Miller (Spooky) last week in Hollywood, and as I mentioned before, he was difficult as ever to really _listen_ to. Then I saw the boyz from Ninja Tune last night... I don't want to disrespect DJ Spooky, because I think in his own way, he adds a new perspective to modern muzik <art?>, however, in terms of turntable science DJ Food, Vadim, and most especially Herbalizer would >blow him out of the water<. -d-

Oh yeah. On my last two outings, first at a club, then at the Ninja Tune show, there were these people handing out free Prodigy singles. Shameless self promotion?
