Did anyone watch Sunday's episode with Jodie Foster as the voice of the evil
female tattoo? There was one bit where her laughter is put through a lot of
effects, building up to a mad chorus of many a weird laughter - and I realized
it sounded a lot like they were trying to do the Ventolin 'mum laughing' bit.
Isn't Chris Carter an Aphex fan or something?
On a totally unrelated tip: the Beth Orton album on Heavenly last year hasn't
left my CD player for too long - I like to think of it as Weatherall once
again doing what he did with Primal Scream - marrying rock tunes to his brand
of dubby ambience. "Trailer Park" has a few more straight, guitar-oriented
tracks (only three or four are Weatherall-produced) than "Screamadelica", but
it all comes together (ha ha - Primals joke) so well. Also check out the
single "Touch Me With Your Love" for the Weatherall instrumental.
On now:: Autechre: Envane (Quite a surprise - it's supremely listenable.)
