He's not. He's collaborated with them on one track, "Sirenes," and probably done a remix or two for them, and that's all.

Trance with spacey guitar. 'Point 3: Fire' is probably their best album, but all their records are more or less interchangeable, IMHO (aside from the first one with vocals from the Seal school). Not sure how he could've ever been "half" of System 7 seeing as the only two members I've heard of are Steve Hillage on guitar and his wife Miquette Garaudy (sp?) on keyboards. -- Ben Coffer Hybrid Productions

I saw a track on a mix by System 7 and the original producers were Laurent Garnier and Steve Hillage, so naturally I presumed that LG was a member of System 7.
