Can anyone tell me if the rereleased album is fully rerecorded, or remastered or remixed? I know the recent single is totally different, and there are 2 new tracks, but what about the rest of it? thanks chris clarke 91.1 FM PULSATION. techno, jungle, rap in Winnipeg. Radio Krylon

Well I picked up the re-release of A Guy Called Gerald's "Black Secret Technology". Having owned the original, I was curious about the differences: 1st track is totally new. Long Detroit synth melody underneath some quality break programming. 2nd track, "So Many Dreams" is a new version and better than the first. More soul in this one. 13th track, "Life unolds Mysteries" is a new version as well. Again, I like this version better. The last track on the old one, the wierd one-off tune w/Gerald and his beautiful voice, has been replaced by "Touch me", a more junglish track that fits in with the rest of the album better. A few of the tracks have some spots that are different. All tracks sound cleaner and not as 'bootleg' as the original. I would say this is a d&b must have... What's the scoop on the reissue? Is this reissued on his UK label, or has a major picked up the album? Oh dear. I thought the last track on the old one was terrific. Is "Touch Me" the same as "When You Touch Me" from Trance Europe Express 4?

Now that's what I wanted to hear! Thanks for the info, I'll be on the lookout for it.

Apparently the vocalist from Deee-Lite will be on it in some capacity. There was a cover feature on Gerald in The Wire in October or so which has more info that I can't remember offhand. Hope so, that's a fun song. But then again, I have it already :-P

That's something I _like_ about the first version. It sounds so covert, like Black Secret Technology, man... But, I do applaud having remastered tracks, as long as us dopes in the US can get a decent price... I don't want to pay 20 bucks for a slightly different album than I already have...

I can't wait! This guy is one of my fave's and I hope miss Kier's voice goes well w/his style.. somehow I think it will be great. He's been out of the studio for a while now, so it'll be interesting to hear if he's progressed much further... ---- FreyGuy <Everyday is FreyDay> Lotus Notes & LAN Administrator Hansen Corporation / A Minebea Group Company KevFrey@evansville.net --------- Kfrey@nyx.net WebSite: http://www.evansville.net/~kevfrey/ "We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams." - Willy Wonka (by Gene Wilder)
