Everyone see the new Amp last night? 'On' again. Damn! How about Donkey Ruhbarb or Ventoloin? You all got your Kraftwerk video. The Cascade video was pretty wicked. Brian was looking a bit like David Gahan if I do say so myself. Anyhow, proves once again that FSOL have hardly changed a smidgen in years. Music for Babies was pretty trippy, like an Oskar Fischinger short. I don't think there's any need to play firestarter when it's already in heavy rotation. I did notice something though...do you remember 'orbital' being mentioned in the opening titles? No orbital to be found. I hope they have special long form video editions so they can play 'westworld' and portishead's 'to kill a dead man' and 'teachings from the electronic brain.' We'll see what happens, hopefully amp is going to be around awhile.... _____ / ,-,_) /,_) (/ RESH Live & Direct from the G-Spot, Orange County, California, USA http://www1.linkonline.net/fresh/fresh.htm

That was actually "AMP4" last night. "AMP3" was on late Friday night.

I prefer the "Pocket Calculator" video, since it shows more of them (i.e., the 1981 tour live setup) than "The Model" did. But props to them for showing *any* full-length Kraftwerk. (It's too bad there's not a "Numbers" video, then maybe all those kids who hear Juan Atkins drop it during a set would know from whence it came.)

Uh, isn't "Cascade" only a couple of years old, at most?

Every time I'd start to think a passage of that track was pretty groovin', it would train-wreck into another completely different style. Ick. Disappointments: AGAIN the videos were edited (mostly cut off, in this case), lotsa repeats again, do we *really* need to see "Born Slippy (NUXX)" and "Firestarter" on AMP, etc. Positives: "Cascade", "The Model" Who's "Paul Hasslinger", anyway? - Greg

Just proves how high expectations run for FSOL. For almost anyone else, people would bow down and pray upon first listen to "Dead Cities". Yet fans rag on FSOL for not taking another quantum leap forward. It's unfair; FSOL is an organic evolution, which will play out over years. And I still love ISDN. 3

Actually, 'The Box' was shown. Steve Dolphyn sdolphyn@ibm.net

Whoops...sorry about that...Orbital was played on Friday evening's (Saturday morning's) show. You're correct, they were not played on Saturday evening's version. I recorded both shows back-to-back, and thought 'The Box' was played on the latter one, but I was wrong. Steve Dolphyn sdolphyn@ibm.net

Yes, indeed, self-confirmation, two epies shown. The first was a repeat of the one from two weeks past, however, so nothing new, unless you had missed that one originally. Saturday's was all-new, and all-old, all-at-once, if you know what the fling I mean. >ps: was the sound screwed up on that k'werk video (the model)

Oh, I thought it was just my blipped VCR! By the way, Kraftwerk evidently describes their own music as "industrial folk music", so perhaps the technology failures are to be expected. 3
