Interesting. My path would be:
Beatles -> new wave stuff (Depeche Mode, OMD)
-> newOrder / Smiths / 4AD (and whatever happened to Colourbox?)
-> shoegazers (Chapterhouse, Ride, Slowdive) -> Curve, NIN
-> first hearing Papua New Guinea off the Cool World soundtrack
-> purchase of ex:el, SAW1, Little Fluffy Clouds, Electro-Soma, etc. etc.
Thanks to the folks for all the comments on electro. Quite educational.
Has anyone heard Endemic Void's "Equations" album? Any reviews?

My whole thing is to take completely retarded songs and turn them into
something of my own. What can I bring to a song that's already been done well?
