Has anyone heard the Siskol release on Phthalo yet? How does it compare stylistically to the releases as Vladislav Delay? Also, is the CD on Chain Reaction in a similar style to the 'Huone' 12"? I thought it walked a balance between the out and out techno of the Max Ernst release and the beatless (well, no boof-tss-boof-tss :) material on Sigma Editions and Mille Plateaux. Definitely looking forward to the upcoming 12" on Sigma Editions as well (especially now I've found a place I can buy them domestically :) Michael np 'A Book of Human Language' - Aceyalone -+- Jet Jaguar MP3s http://mp3.com/jetjag/ -+- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

The new Sistol cd on Phthalo is definitely more like the Vladislav Delay 12" on Max Ernst & Freunde (i.e. on the abstract percussive techno side) but dont take that as a bad thing. On the contrary, the intricacy of the drum programming on the Sistol truely sets it apart from any other minimal techno-esque release in recent memory. On the other hand, the new Vladislav Delay cd on Mille Plateaux, called Entain, is very much in the style of the Ele cd on Sigma Editions label - deep spacious amorphous experimental ambient music. The Vladislav Delay material on Chain Reaction seems to combine elements from both his spacious experimetanl ambient material as well as his more rhythmically-based tracks producing deep spacious rhythmically complex tracks. Another recent Vladislav Delay project worth checking out is his remix on the recent Autopoieses remix 2xlp on Mille Plateaux. On this mix Vladislav combines a deep amopheous ambient soundscape with the disjointed digital processing of the original Autopoises track producing the impression of random digital noise bursts slowly swirling down the drain in a wash of warm chords. In interesting mix. Regarding the Huone 12", I've been looking for that one but have not been able to find it here in the states. I'd be interested in hearing how that one is as well. Also I too am eager for the forthcoming Conoco 12" on Sigma Editions. Who knows what sound he will undertake on that one... -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Lance, Huone is arguably the best Vladislav Delay. When I first got it, I was split over this release and Amx - 8 by Arovane on DIN. The main track on the A-side is a monster 15 + minute track, progressing from a collection of scratchy rhyhms and gradually building on that to create a pulsating percussive flow accompanied by (as you say) his trademark amorphous ambient wash of sound. Get it if you can. Actually I just realized that I already have the Huone 12". It is the first Vladislav Delay on the Huune label that I'm after. Any info or reviews on that one? -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Minimal organic uneasy techno... a bit like MaxErnst&5.

Multila compiles Huone EP and Ranta EP on one CD. So no bonuses but nothing has been left out either. If you're a vinyl freak get the ranta ep.

It is excellent... one of his best 12" (if not the best). --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Well Lance, It would seem that Huone is the exclusive relase for Chain Reaction, if you've already checked pHinn. Vladislav's release on Huume is The kind of blue EP which tracks are Siru/ Kenno. Seems the V D trend is to release 10 minute + songs.
