Difficulty finding the Young American Primitive cd?!? Where do you live? Siberia? Here is some info: The double cd package of In Sides is the album plus the last two singles. The singles are Times Fly (which includes two versions of the title track- fast and slow- plus a reworking of Strange but True from the last album- I believe the remix is called Strange But New- and a delightful little song called the Tranquilizer. The second single is The Box which is simply four movements of one song, the last with unfortunate vocals. I hope all of this info is correct. I don't actually own the US version of In Sides because I was stupid enough to shell out $25 to buy the import. I just had to be the first one on my block to own it!!! As for Autechre's Tri Repetae, I could be wrong but I was sure that the titles were on one of the little cards contained within. Again, I have the import so perhaps the US release is incomplete. Even though they have names, I still refer to them as Track 6 or Track 10 or whatever and, yes, track 6 is magnificent. Happy listening! Jedi Knights: you may be having problems finding stuff by them because there isn't much-- a single on Clear records (vinyl only) and the album that you now own. I believe that's all there is by them under this moniker but, if I'm wrong, I'm sure someone else will fill you in. It most certainly is... according to the label on the CD: "Incomplete without surface noise." i.e., referring to the digital nature of CDs vs. the analog nature of records. -- guyjr@cc.gatech.edu | I.D.M.- That stage in sleeping when your feet are a.k.a., Guy Elden Jr. | moving faster than your eyes.

I treated myself to the following CD's for my birthday: Orbital - In Sides Jedi Knights - New School Science Autechre - Tri Repitae I was so happy that I forgot that I was 25 years OLD. I have a few questions about the discs tho... Whats the deal with the Orbital? Why no listing for the second disc? Or is it the first disc? There are 8 trax listed...but there are what? At least 13 tracks total on both discs...is the second disc more stuff or remixes or what? And as to the Autechre... Track 6, disc 1....HOLY DOG SHOES! !! ! !!! I almost had a wreck...that's like, my theme song now... But why why why do they have to be so vague about their tracks?! The cover is totally blank, the listing inside has 3 titles...now whats that crap about? I love the disc, but man...maybe im being a major philistine here, but I really would like to see track listings just so I wouldnt have to tell people 'Yeah you know that track that goes ..er...bum bam badabad bum bading bang....' Names have decent uses even if its 'untitled #7' The Jedi Knights just plain stomped! I had to shell out 30 bills for it, but I blessed every penny after just the first track...Now THERES a damn good idea....Skip the wimpy hip hop trip hop....go col acid trance plus old school funk....that's friggin kewl. It is the UK import version I have...is there a US version? And why are these guys cds so hard to get? I dont really care cause i finally GOT...and I feel relieved after having never found the young american primitive CD couple years back... This music keeps getting better and better.. A couple months ago I though Id have a hard time finding anything cooler than Montok Point.... HOw goofy of me... And speaking of that...William Orbit's site features 'Montok Live' and unreleased track...Is there a remote chance that there is a single available of Montok point? Also, is anyone gifted enough to have the infamous orbit disc that was recalled and destroyed? It was mentioned in the last DJ magazine... Hmm... I think he should have released it anyway. Anyway, before I ramble... Just wanted to make those short comments... Reviews forthcoming Jasonosaj

Autechre is in the business of making music (not to be confused with the music buiseness). Maybe they don't feel like chaining down their tracks with visuals.

Given that there's no lyrics to extract a title from, why even bother with a title? Besides, I can't remember the track names on other CDs - it's always just a track number to me.

It was a pisser to me because I already had so many of the tracks. I was hoping for more new stuff.

Actually, I managed to borrow the CD from a friend who had borrowed it from a friend, and I managed to get a digital copy on DAT. I'll be burning a few CDs as soon as I can find some blank CDs and the time. The CD, Pieces in a Modern Style, is amazing. Some of the tracks have classical instrumentation (performed with samplers), and some have Orbit's usual electronic wizardry. It's all very, very good. Che

I do it all the time. Oh yeah, that's coz I'm 23 years old...

The second disc contains 4 remixes of the box, plus the timesfly e.p. I have the listings at home, but you can get them at www.rise.co.uk/orbital

hehehe... if this is your first Autechre, then be prepared, the more you listen to them the more they'll distort your taste in music. I got Tri Repetae soon after it came out, and I'm still discovering new aspects of it.

All the track names are listen one of the pieces of cardboard. - Harry J Walsh This line is here because of my laziness. Please ignore it.
