Picked up the Plug album tonight at Mod Lang (I thought it was supposed to be impossible to find this week - they got 6 copies of the "30" that made it into the US according to some). MAJOR props to Luke for sampling 'Barton Fink.' Overall, the album's about what I expected - it won't win Plug or "intelligent jungle" any new fans but it should please people already into this kind of thing. Virgin Megastore in San Fran had several copies of the Plug album as of Thursday - at least ten or so. (Check out the listening stations.) It seems unlikely that only 30 made it into US of A. Auntie....double CD remix collection of Orb's expansive history of remixes for the likes of Yello, Front 242, Keiichi Suzuki and more. Also, I don't believe it's been mentioned before, but the double CD includes a thick booklet containing the complete discography of The Orb...a valuable tool for collectors and fans alike. In all, it's a wonderful value, and a beautiful listen.
