For some examples of what this release sounds, this URL (part of the orbitrecords website): [ http://hyperreal.com/music/labels/orbitrecords/artists/x09/ ] [ heatsync : or004 ] heatsync, a new artist to orbitrecords, recently completed their work for the upcoming "jupiter ep". currently being pressed, orbitrecords will release this 4-track 12" ep in mid-August. a departure from our .x09 release, the heatsync ep is a return to the basics of dance music. driving rhythms coupled with swirling analog synthesizer tones forms the backbone for all of heatsync's work, and this collection of songs is no exception. a collaboration between seattle's grooveneedle records and orbitrecords, heatsync's work is a fresh look at dancefloor oriented sounds. familiar elements from techno roots are all present, but the fusion of these elements forges something entirely new. shortly after orbitrecords releases heatsync's jupiter ep, grooveneedle records will release a second collection of heatsync's work, the source ep. [ the cumulonimbus : or005 ] after a great deal of work in the studio, the first ep from the cumulonimbus, "amber," has been completed. the long-anticipated ep will be released in september 1996. initial feedback from demos of the work has been overwhelmingly positive -- from the fast-paced trance sounds of the title track "amber" to the slower, atmospheric, electro-influenced "monochrome," the endless studio revision has paid off. like heatsync, the work of the cumulonimbus is a step beyond rigidly defined genre-based dance music. the amber ep draws influences from jungle, electro, and trance to create addicting rhythms and grooves. whatever the terms are, the cumulonimbus has created a unique sound that transcends musical genre, placing it beyond the average dance record. [ ad infinitum ] at orbitrecords, we are very excited about our next two releases. with the heatsync ep, the cumulonimbus ep, and several other projects we've only hinted at so far, we feel our artists have pushed new boundaries with electronic dance music without alienating the roots that glue it together. as usual, keep your eyes on the lookout for these releases, and if you haven't already, check out our website and download some samples. the music should speak for itself. please don't hesitate to contact us for more information at or@hyperreal.com. we're eager to hear what you have to say.
