Had a great time at _Celestial Ether_ on Saturday night here in Winnipeg. An
expensive night at $20 but the lighting, lasers, pyro, various inter-galactic
visiters, and a moon walk ride made up for it. I was reluctant to bring my girlfriend
with a price of $20. I knew she'd come and have a good time but I really didn't think
she'd get the proper enjoyment for her money. In retrospect I should have. It was a
quality evening by quality promoters. And the sound! The clearest I've ever heard
with stereo (perhaps quadrophonics! No. Couldn't be!) that actually worked!
<So what? We all have great events in our respective home towns.>
For all you folks in western Canada, and the North-western US, check out a great trio
from Vancouver known as Phaedra. Wow. They played about 90 minutes of great
atmospheric, highly danceable techno with all the absurd noises necessary to put a big
smile on my face. I'm quite impressed by the length of their set and took a few
pictures as well. Perhaps I'll get them on a web page soon.
Now I've got to see about getting a tape from these kids.
Dave.
