I've heard this is a familiar complaint with Forced Exposure: if your order doesn't show up, they'll never talk to you. However I've ordered from them a few times and had no trouble, but the only time they ever e-mailed me was to call me names for trying to get a discount on a very large order, so I don't care for them very much. My best guess would be to hang in there, they don't seem like they would rip you off, or try and ask Hrvatski about it: he's the most accessible person out there, I think (sheket@tiac.net). I've had very good experiences with them. They've been good about getting back to me within 48 hours if I have a question. They've also been nice about setting things aside for me. On one occaision UPS misplaced my package, luckily it showed up, but they got back to me quickly. (a few hours) Now I happily use USPS. In one instance they misplaced my order, and I had to email them to set things straight. I think they're decent, their online stock lists are very accurate, and they have gone out of their way to make me happy. This in mind, I think they'll make good on what was promised. Most of my communication was done via Ashlie, if that helps. You are right tho, FE has a fax, no phone #. I believe they are mainly a distributor, not a retail outlet, so this may explain the lack of a voice line. There is a voice line, I just can't remember what it is. They deal primarily through their fax. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Thanks to all who responded to my call. Finally, they responded and confirmed that they claimed the payments and will send the CDs on monday. As I understood from your messages and their message to me, they keep track of the messages from private customers but do not like to respond to them as their primary aim is distribution. I do not know what was the reason for them to answer to me at last (I think they keep track of idm list correspondence) but anyway, as it is said in Russian, "what ends good is good indeed". I'm happy to know that they are working and working well. Waiting for my CDs. No offense to Forced Exposure whatsoever. i think FE/jimmy et al are just dead to retail customer service - at least that's how their acting. i've bought a few hundred releases from them in the early 90s (my avant/post rock days) with no problems. of course there were no maintenance issues they had to deal w/ from me as a customer though. when i tried _one_ order from them since they began online catalogs, i did not receive the merchandise (UPS). it appears that since UPS had record of delivery receipt (signed post-it auth for drop ship), FE chose to believe UPS and not the me, customer. This was an erroneous and very non-customer friendly assumption. FE's assumption, in accordance with non-replies and unlisted contact information for retail customers forces me to assume their business focus is centered on distribution first, and desperate retail customers last. so i disputed my credit card charge, my credit card bank probly ate the $50, and FE considered no loss for this transaction. but i will never buy from FE again until they provide me with a response, specifically an explanation. until then i'm going to assume jimmy does not appreciate my business and i will stick with the old faithfuls (we all know who they are, look at any digest week's posts) once again, FE, i am asking (now publicly) you to explain what's happenning here, why is this trend continuing. np hrvatski sirrus minor agent mully icq 33102742 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I begin to believe it is general way of behaviour of the online shops. I've had similar experience with Bent Crayon. I ordered from them in September 4 CDs. They charged my Visa for $64 but the cds never arrived. My post office says they did not receive it, bent crayon says their post office sent it. No one is guilty, except small matter - I still do not have my cds. I asked them why they specifically charged me for insurance if they just turned their backs on me when the problem occured but got no response until present day. Fuck capitalistst! Angry Alien np. L@N btw. Forced Exposure charged me for insurance as well and did not respond to my questions about meaning of this insurance as well. I just have to hope this time the package arrives.
