How many of you IDM'ers know of this band. A friend gave me a good description of them and said they are comming to town shortly. I love to hear a band live before I buy their disc, but you can immagine that doesn't happen too often. If that was the case i would have never bought Auctechre's stuffb/c they didn't come this way. Since I haven't heard Tortoise's music yet, do any of you suggest I check 'em out live first, or will I be disappointed? I don't even know if they are IDM to be honest. If not, sorry for wasted time. gil hello ben pound! /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ NAME:Gil aka GMV500 E-MAIL: videla@colorado.edu WEB PAGE: yeah, right! check out my friends- http://ares.csd.net/~albumsup - http://www.uea.ac.uk/~u9506276 PHILOSOPHY: AMBIENT+BREAKDANCE= IDM FINAL WORDS: MORE BEER! \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\\/\\/\/\/\\//\/\/\/\/\/\/\\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/

See Tortoise live at all costs. Checked it out in Ottawa a few weeks ago and was absolutly floored. Way better than any of their recorded material (although that's all excellent as well). What do they sound like, the best I can offer is King Crimson meets Sly and Robbie with a touch of German Psych. Essential stuff here kids. Discreetly Wig
