The following is forwarded from the Synth-l list. Sounds very promising. Star's End, for those unfortunate enough not to have known, was the late-night Saturday into Sunday pre-ambient show which ran through the 80s and well into the 90s on WXPN, the radio station of the University of Pennsylvania. 88.5 was the magic frequency at which many minds were introduced to Eno, Tangerine Dream, and their illin' ilk while watching the Eastern sky slowly awaken to dawn. By the way, there's going to be another Star's End Gathering for the listeners of that radio show in the Philadelphia area. Here's info from the flier I received: Chuck Van Zyl is hosting another STAR'S END GATHERING on Saturday, May 4th in Houston Hall Auditorium, 3417 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at 8:00 pm. For info, call 1-800-565-WXPN (1-800-565-9976). Admission is free to WXPN Member card holders and guests. A $5.00 donation is requested from all others. Directions from I-95: -Exit at 76 West -Exit at South Street -Turn left at the top of the ramp -Travel past 3 traffic lights -Houston Hall is the 2nd building on the right -Go upstairs and have fun. Performing live: * TELEKINETIC SOULMATE - Ambient/Techno Explorers * PURE GAMMA - Monochromatic Minimalism * ART COHEN - Space Guitarist * DJ LOVE GROVE - Baltimore's Sonic Soul I just thought you'd like to know. Is there anybody else in the Lehigh Valley on this list who'd like to car pool? If anybody else on the list would like to meet face to face, the Gathering would be ideal!
