I've been on idm for a while & read a lot about Depth Charge / J Saul Kane / Octagon Man. I was wondering if someone could recommend a release I should pick up. It sounds like the man has done stuff in several different styles - I've heard that "Nine Deadly Venom" (is that right?) is more sample-heavy and hiphop, while Octagon Man singles are more electro and less samples. Which release would be a good intro to DC stuff? Just to indicate my tastes, I liked his Sabres remixes, and would be more partial to any of his stuff that's closer to the Chem Bros than Drexciya, if that makes sense in terms of his music. Since it's an oft-mentioned topic here (Depth Charge, that is) please feel free to write me directly. I think I've built up a decent electronic music collection, starting with the original R&S "Accelerator", but there are some artists that I haven't gotten around to, like DC and (darn, what was his name) the man behind Sandoz/Cabaret Voltaire. (I can just imagine some people rolling their eyes right now :) Or Drexciya and Aux88, who I finally got to hear through the nice comp Origins of a Sound. I figure, there's no better to place to ask about all their music than here ;) Thanks, James Jung-Hoon Seo // Oracle New Media (415) 506-3829 // jseo@us.oracle.com Excuse me, do you like pineapple? // Chungking Express

Actually, being a FSOL freak, the original was released by Jumpin' n Pumpin' (c)1992 Derek
