Several messages talked about how the new Jedi Knights album had the "previously rare / unreleased" track "Noddy Holder" on it. It's there alright, but surely this is the same track that was on the Clear 12"? By the way, can someone tell me - a Star Wars amnesiac - what the title 'noddy holder' is? Is it supposed to refer to something in the SW universe? Thanks! On Now: um, "Noddy Holder". I can easily say, that "Noddy Holder" is quite over-rated. It's decent, but pales in comparison to its companion tracks like "Human Blancmange" "May the Funk be With You" and "The Truth." According to one of the many social rejects I hang out with, Human Blancmange is a reference to a Monty Python skit...and that doesn't surprise me. Monty Python also appears on the "Dances of the Naughty Knights" track with a sample from "The Search for the Holy Grail." Unfortunately I don't have the Clear 12" so I can't compare the tracks. Noddy Holder is nothing to do with Star Wars; he is in fact the leader of a crap British rock'n'roll band-SLADE-(even worse than Status Quo, although more street-cred with the help of hindsight) who had a few hits in the 70s. Surely you must know that all star Wars characters had names like Han Solo or Boba Fett? Although the "Noddy Holder" track is not bad: the track itself is a bit flat, but the beginning, "begin intermittent funk transmission", is vocoder at its best. Rob.

Noddy Holder was (I think) the lead singer for an atrocious UK glam-rock band from the 70's, name mercifully forgotten by me. They did the original version of "Cum on Feel the Noize" covered more recently by Quiet Riot. And yes that song is familiar from the Jedi Knights Clear EP. I don't know if it's an identical version. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Kent Williams kent@inav.net (319) 338 6053 (home) (319) 626 6700 x 219 (work) (319) 626 3489 (fax)
