Well, does anyone have a spare T-Power cd (Self Evident...etc) they can sell to me or whatever? Greatly appreciate it, as I can't find it anywhere, and I simply must have one. Also, HAB ep by James is 33 right? Looks and sounds that way to me... but, you know....

One of the tracks on HAB2 (not the "everyday" one) sounds OK at both speeds to me, but 45 is right. HAB1 should all run at about 160 bpm, whichever RPM that happens to be. The one I realy have trouble with is Auteurs vs U-ziq. Some of these tracks I really can't get a grip on what the speed is meant to be. Not having heard the CD I'm still stuck. And what about Wagon Christ's "redone", the actual reedin remix sounds OK at both speeds, though better at 45. Some of the vocal samples are sped up, others slow down, so some of them come out right at 33, others at 45. Intentional? This is propably as far from idm as you can get but... Then Butthole Surfers released Hairway To Steven (still one of my favourite LP-titles), it was mastered BOTH 33 and 45! If you wanted to listen throught the record «correctly«, you had to switch the speed in the middle of both sides. Fun fun fun. Well, some time ago I heard the CD-version and I wasn«t sure whatever THAT was spinning at the right speed... (BS use quite a bit of speeded-up/slowed-down vocals) Also... At least I own quite a few EPs with different speed for each side. MBM«s «Mindstream« for example. funny, I'm listening to a tape of HAB2 at the mo' with both tracks taped at both speeds, for me both sound better at 45, but there you go. jeff

I forgot to mention add this: If anybody has the Cocteau Twins« "Victorialand" (their best work, IMHO), it sounds even better at 33 (it is an album-lenght release, but mastered on 45). I actually listened it twice on 33 by accident, then noticed my error, but now actually like the 33 quite alot. It«s almost like two records at the same package! While we are on this subject... Has anyone else ever given a try on the Richie Hawtin mix that can be found on La Funk Mob's remixes 2x10" (Mo'Wax), but on 45 rpm instead of 33...? The result can be called "Minimal drum 'n' bass", or what? ;) Just being silly, ERkki TampHexster, pHinland trerra@uta.fi

There are no speed indications on the vinyl, but all of the other tracks on the parts 1&2 of the vinyl work best at 33... Any comments? Mixmaster do you like it cut faster?
