I can't say I agree with Stockhausen either--he's dismissing a whole genre of music based on a prejudice that seems a bit shallow. "Old-fashioned"? Incidentally, I once read a book on Stockhausen in which he said that he detested all music with a steady rhythm because of the association (in his mind) of rhythm with fascism.
