about three weeks ago i bought the _Equanimity_ comp., and that has satisfied the idm/techno munchies for a while. but now, the hunger is mounting, and there is actually a little cash flow to back it up. so i wanted to ask around before i plunge in. in the past few weeks i've been trying to get my hands on some of the pharma label stuff, but the local record store has been null at getting that. so i wanted to ask if the Germ full-length, which is on the gpr schedule at hyperreal, ever came out. their track on _Equanimity_ knocked my socks off. Also, i saw an ad in MM saying that 4E stuff would be coming out on Force Inc. soon. Did this happen, or was that the "Gen feat. 4E" on Mille Plateaux which was reviewed not too far back? anyways, i'll probably end up getting something boring like the Sandcastles 12" (BtB) but if i get anything new i'll send in my opinion. something new might be the Subharmonic compilation of "post-human hip-hop". then again, it might not. by the way, is everyone else getting blank messages from dave walker? you seem nice dave (i like your homepage) but i wish you would cut that out. -Nick

Boring? I disagree. :) I'll admit that three out of the four tracks don't really cut it on a techno/idm level, but then there's that sublime Jedi Knights remix of 'Absorber'. It's probably my fave thing Tom & Mark have done as The Jedi Knights, as they drop the played-out retro routine in favor of a Detroit-style space-funk masterpiece with a gorgeous little melodic hook. It's probably closer to their Link material than anything else, and it's totally mesmerising. Saves the 12" for me. - Matthew "I grew up thinking that techno music is actually something that you can't imagine. That is techno at its best. If you hear something that you'd never expect to hear - that's techno. If you hear something that kind of sounds like you've heard it before, then it's not techno." - Jeff Mills

"g.e.n feat. 4e" (mp12) was kind of confusing info, given that g.e.n are walker & gizz tv, and 4e -if i'm not mistaken!- is gizz tv (=bizz od, khan, etc). no, your ad is talking about a different release, fim 092 i believe (somewhere around that anyway). i don't know whether it's out yet, but it should be. greets, p.
