hey all,
here's an obscure question which, umm, probably doesn't
really matter (but has some idm content!) I was at an
arcade game trade show a couple of years back, and I saw
this weird-as-fuck gaming machine (from Namco, I think..)
which basically worked like this - it was 6 feet long, sorta the shape of a
table soccer table, and consisted of 5 'light tubes'.
A block of light moved down each tube from one end to another.
It was a two-player thing, and when the block of light reached
your end of the table, you pressed a button to send it shooting
back again, faster. if you missed you lost a 'life'. you could
be juggling all 5 blocks of light at once going supafast if you
were good enough.
The idm content? You could pick a piece of music to go with the
game, and one of these pieces of music was Coldcut's "Atomic
Moog 2000"!
Soo.. i wondered.. has anyone ever seen one of these in the
arcades, and if so, has anyone got a tracklisting for it? Is
there any other idm stuff in there? what's the machine called?
regards,
simon.

ps - someone just posted to idm-list from a yahoo.co.uk
address about Mira Calix and some synth stuff, claiming to be
Burmese ("don't take the piss out of my name"),and to be called Bocuma
Wakuran. Bocuma Wakuran? "Boku Mo Wakuran"? Oh per-lease :) Wonder if it's
Bogdan himself or just a fan. Cute anyhow.
