Drexciya's 12" on Warp is probably the most conspicuously
different-sounding record, stylistically speaking, when compared to their
other 12"s on Shockwave/UR/Submerge. It's nowhere near as raw-sounding as
their domestic releases, and the accent isn't so much on dirty
electro-funk, but rather on polished Detroit techno. That said, it still
delves slightly into the brashness that the Drexciya boys are known for,
but as it is on Warp, the overall feel is one of smoothness, not
ruffness... :)
