I got the 3rd issue of MUZIK Saturday, and it raised quite a few eyebrows in my camp. I have one of the 20,000(?) ltd. edition vinyl pressings of ISDN, but Sister Ray lists the album as a 2LP? Does anyone have a double vinyl version of ISDN? What the hell am I missing(besides the other slab of vinyl)? Speaking on MUZIK, the issue I have is fairly decent, covering almost all the bases, and the cover is ULTRA, my girlfriend couldn't stop glancing at it. A "lot" more reviews in the Techno(?)/Downtempo(?) sections would help. But my real love with this issue was REFRESH YOUR EARS. It more than helped my R&S trainspotting, and helped other things this weekend as well...Mantrax-'Scarlet Circus' is awesome, but Mr. Hawtin has already gone that route. 'Break In Space' by Tournesol was a turn-on for everyone I played it to, as well 'Kinetic'-Golden Girls, and the pound4poundhardkoreupyerronson 'Energy Flash'. Oh, nice picture of R&S, too. Anyone want to part with any A.R.T./Sapho Records releases, let me know(except ART 6.0)...I'm looking for 'House of Usher' by Aqua Fortis. Oh, I also need a little help compiling an LP-only record list for Platipus/Superstition releases, any info will help. Derek Jordan

I think the original (black) limited ed. was on one vinyl, but the (white) reissue was on double. Unlike the reissued CD, the vinyl continued to be in a velcro-closed folder, though the inner artwork is less glossy than on my original CD and the sleeve is not embossed. I thought that was the way it worked, because my shop had 6 copies, and all 6 were 1 vinyl in the black velcro packaging. Do you know what tracks are one the other slab of vinyl for the rerelease? I can post the tracklisting & compare it with the 2LP release...I can decide whether or not to get the 2LP. Derek Jordan

Well put it this way, the tracklisting for the "white" double LP is the same as for the "white" CD. I assume the tracklisting for the "black" LP is the same as for the "black" CD, in which case it must be a pretty quiet pressing. On an oblique note, this was the first time I've ever found an LP release to be available cheapest at Virgin"mega"store here in Birmingam. It was a good 2 quid cheaper than the best of my usual (specialist) haunts, whereas the price differential is usually about 4 pounds the other way (eg Aphex Twin's "Classics") J ^ __________ ________.__/_____ _||_/ James Skilton aka Steady J _[]/_____________[.__\____-_ DJ and Party Animal | | Part Time Hedonist |____________________________| Full Time Technohead |__|-' '-|__| Steady-J@Firefox.co.uk
