i recently spoke with luke vibert (who was lovely) and extracted the following bits of interesting news for you: -just finished plug 3 (!!!!) -should have an ep out under his own name on mo' wax *real* soon, if it's not already out -remixed a new indie band on creation called ruby for their debut - his first proper vocal track -will remix a ken ishii track for a manga that he is doing the soundtrack for, featuring animation by the man (men?) who did akira -aphex got booted from doing the soundtrack for the mortal combat movie in favor of thomas dolby well gee, i guess there's not much reason for you to read my article now, is there? :) if you're still interested it will be out in september in urb. forgive me if these things have been mentioned before - i haven't been able to keep up with this list too well lately. ____ Hug Your Waistline to the Bassline Tamara Palmer trance@netcom.com tamara@eye-q.com Women Respond to Bass

Actually, having spent some quality time in front of the television this weekend, I ended up catching a preview for "Mortal Combat". While having a typically arcade-like hardcore techno sound to it, the teaser did say funkmeister George Clinton did the music for the film. Now, if it *is* a hardcore techno soundtrack, it could be really, reallyinteresting. Or boring - your mileage may vary.
