According to Kent Williams:
quoted 4 lines I think reviewers were unnecessarily cruel to this movie. I thought> I think reviewers were unnecessarily cruel to this movie. I thought > it was a blast, but your average doughy white guy reviewer hasn't > read Gibson, and doesn't get the whole punk rock/Survival Research > Labs tip that it operates on.
I haven't seen the movie (probably will get ages to reach these Northern shores), but in my opinion Hollywood has always had a great skill to turn gold to shit. They ruined my favorite comic book Tank Girl and the same thing will probably happen with the 4thcoming Judge Dredd adaptation (Sly Stallone as JD? Come on!). Not to talk about when they get their hands to Gibson's 'Neuromancer'... Never thought that the book was a masterpiece to start with, anyway... (All you cyberpunks and punkettes, put your flame mode *on* now :) obIDM: anyone heard the Chemical Brothers LP yet? Comments? Review? ERkki Tampere, pHinland trerra@uta.fi

Hollywood wasn't in the picture. Alliance from Toronto were behind the making of this movie, with computer animations made by Sony Imageworks on Dec PCs with autodesk products. Filming was done in studios in Toronto and the bridge part and most external shots were done in Montreal (the japanese hotel is actually a Montreal one). Really, the only thing that disapointed me was that the music was not more electronic. After all, we are defining a good part of the sound of the future on this list...
