Bought the soundtrack on Saturday. The two Leftfield songs on it are
great and so is the music of Simon Boswell. And Nina Simone's "My
baby just cares for me" is certainly IDM, if you ask me.
One of the LF tunes is from 1992, and is very dub'ish. Sounds like
another version of track 3 from the "Leftism" album. The theme is
new and energetic. Both tracks are only on this album (to my
knowledge anyway).
I DJ'ed at a club on Saturday and played such varied tunes as
Leftfield's (hm, much of these boys today) "Inspection check one",
Art of Noise's "Close (to the edit)", Kenny "Dope"'s mix of Carleen
Anderson's "Mama said" and Wagon Christ's "Throbbing pouch". Guess
what? They danced most of the evening! I guess Norwegians aren't that
stiff after all.
One last tip: Get to the Quart-festival this summer (6. - 9. of
July). No hesitations, just go. If you wish to get tickets or
information and don't know how, contact me.
Out.
