I would categorize it as experimental house, closest namecheck Autechre, but smoother. Several cuts ("Dark and Vulvic" comes to mind) are very AI comp-ish. These guys have listened to a lot of Detroit house, and bring their own brand of limey light touch techno to the table. The cut all the young dudes are jumping for joy for is "Kellogs Corn Circle". Do you like your 909 dry with some electro bass lines on the side? This one's part of this complete breakfast! If you've been hankering for another 4KHZ tone in yer ear, this isn't it. But this is a thoughtful, well constructed piece of work. And a album title and group tag just made for Beavis and Butthead. -- kent.williams@cadsi.com -- All views expressed are.
