April 27, 1995 FUTURE SOUND OF LONDON NEWS: *"Far-out Son Of Lung & The Ramblings Of A Madman" 12"/CD5" (ASW 6148) *ISDN album (ASW 6144) re-release 12"/CD5" Release Date: 5/15; Album Release Date: 6/6 Succumbing to both high worldwide demand and heavy Internet discussion by fans who were unable to obtain copies of these two coveted collector's items, UK electronic experimentalists Future Sound Of London are making their "Far-out Son Of Lung..." 12" and ISDN album available for general release. "Far-out..." was a white vinyl 12" limited to 500 copies that was released anonymously last Fall under a FSOL pseudonym. A collection of out-there trip-hop tracks compiled mostly from their Dutch and BBC Radio One live broadcast 'tour,' ISDN sold out of its 20,000 copy limited edition pressing within the first three days of release (10,000 in the U.S., 10,000 in the U.K.). For their general release, the 12", CD5", and the album will all contain brand new music plus new artwork by visual collaborator Buggy G. Riphead, including a 16-page full-color booklet exclusive to the general release of the album. A 25+ minute video to accompany the "Far-Out Son Of Lung..." EP will be screened in selected markets across the U.S. -more- NEW SIGNINGS: * The Chemical Brothers: Formerly known as The Dust Brothers UK, this London duo have mixed 'old-school' hip-hop breaks with funked-up acid basslines into a new school fusion that has blown up underground dance floors on both sides of the Atlantic. Taking their original name in homage to the US Hip-Hop production team, The Chemicals have over the past two years become UK remixers-of-the-moment with a slew of chart-topping, floor-filling remixes for acts among the likes of Leftfield, Sabres Of Paradise, and Underworld. In addition, they've produced two acclaimed EP's of their own on the U.K. label Junior Boys' Own, "Chemical Beats" and "My Mercury Mouth." The first 12" under their new Chemical Brothers moniker, "Leave Home," is due mid-May with mixes by Sabres of Paradise and Underworld. Expect the LP, "Exit Planet Dust" in late June/early July. * u-Ziq: Over the past two years, Michael Paradinas aka u-ziq has become one of the underground's most revered and enigmatic figures. An artist with his own idiosyncratic style; weird, distorted, percussive beats beautifully joined with a delicate, yet jazzy melodic sensibility. The 22-year-old former architecture student has turned out from the privacy of his London bedroom a handful of remix credits, two acclaimed albums on Richard (Aphex Twin) James' Rephlex label, a reconstruction of indie-popsters The Auteurs (u-ziq vs. The Auteurs (ASW 6145)), and a whacked out ep for UK new school electro label, Clear, with a shoeboxful of DAT's with new material waiting to be released. Look for an EP in June with a full-length album to follow in the Fall. u-Ziq made his U.S. performance debut on April 22 aboard a boat cruising around the San Francisco Bay to an enthusiastic audience of electronic music fans. Look for more U.S. dates in the fall. NEW 12" RELEASES: * 777-"Alpha Wave" 12" (ASW 6150): Continuing in 777's collaborative spirit, Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy follow up the success of their "Sirenes" 12" by turning over a track from System 7.3: Fire & Water to Richie Hawtin for an epic 20-minute Plastikman Acid House Mix that is guaranteed to leave dance floors breathless! A record that deserves to be played from beginning to end! Out in late May.

right, how many people buy the new version whilst already owning the original. is this the record company recuperating their huge advance or greediness on the part of fsol?
