I love this set! It's an excellent overview of what's beautiful and exciting in ambient. Here's a track listing: Disc 1 Terre Thaemlitz - Trucker (KLF-style road trip ambient) Sub Dub - The Calling (deep dub) Adham Shaikh - 11:11 Window (Old-school ambient with rumbling bass) Omicron - Positron (Repeating keyboard patterns over a trippy beat) Sub Dub - Liquid Mantra (Scrunchy liquid noise) Facil - Some Place (Repeating keyboard lines with sampled voices) Adham Shaikh - Spectrum (Long rumbling passages with chirpy noises and voices) Human Mesh Dance - Winter Orbit (Good, "traditional" ambient) Disc 2 Deep Space Network - Eleven Bars (Finally, a "real" beat!) Mysteries of Science - Chaos Pleasures (A beautifully catchy piano ditty) Terre Thaemlitz - Meditation Of The Mountain Oyster (Droning, raga-influenced melodies with tabla rhythms) Omicron - The Surface Of A Young Planet (Intense Japanese-influenced noise) Seti - Beacon 05 (Another "traditional" ambient piece) Facil - 89-16 (A very slow build to a cool beat) Evolve Now - Ethereum (The only clunker: a new age-y "whoosh" piece) Seti - Photish (Richard James-type stuff with a spooky melodic line over it) Mysteries Of Science - In Fevered Dreams She Come To Me (A long, slow build again.) If anyone wants to chip in with more technicalreview, I'd love to read it! -Phil
