really? i listened to it for longer than usual in the store and i couldn't shake the notion that a lot of it is just noise. i didn't think they had any of the kick of 'chemical beats' or the beauty of 'her jazz'. in fact, i read or heard somewhere that the thing to do now is to take a sound, fuck it up with reverb/echo/etc until its a new noise and then use it...and that's pretty much how i'd describe 'my mercury mouth'. i was disapointed. i will, of course, give it more chances since the dust brothers ep is still one of my favorites right now. chris .-'~~~-. .'o oOOOo`. :~~~-.oOo o`. --------------------------- `. \ ~-. oOOo. ----------------------------- `.; / ~. I just spoke to Todd at URB about the Dust Brothers party this weekend - bad news, they ain't showin'. Seems that the promoter (a dude from North Carolina) who was supposed to pay for the ticket and get them out here didn't, so they never got on the plane and headed for a vacation in Italy. URB is trying to get Rabbit in the Moon as a substitute. I cc this to idm because this also means that the other 4 or 5 American dates that they were planning will not happen either. LA was to be the first show. :( :( :( Hug Your Waistline to the Bassline............................................ They are absolutely positively NOT the same. The LA dust brothers are working on things like Shonen Knife these days, while the UK dust brothers are remixing everybody and their mother. Jon Drukman jsd@cyborganic.com

Yeah, the newsest Dust Bros. remix project is a limited edition 12" of the Dust Brothers Vs. The Manic Street Preachers. I don't know whether to get that or the new Mu-Ziq Vs. The Auteurs EP. Hmmm... [CiM] "Birth, school, acid house, death" - Jockey Slut

Hi. Last week's NME contained a megamix tape from the Dust Brothers called 'NME Xmas Dust Up'. There was one new (?) song from the bros. themselves, plus their mixes for Prodigy, Depth Charge and Strange Brew; Leftfield remix for Renegade Soundwave, and - terror terror! - Manic Street Preachers :) Check it out while you can. Happy winter solstice, ERkki PS. The US Dust Brothers have sued their British 'cousins' for using their name. Anyone to know more about this? OnNow: FSOL - ISDN Bomb The Bass - Darkheart (Sabres of Paradise mixes) Autechre: Teartear (from 'Amber')
