Although I'm without a mail manager, I'd like to mark my return to IDM.. The summer was both uplifting and depressing.. A spontaneous trip to Spastik definitely marked a high point... The seminar was also interesting, because I had the pleasure of meeting Morris, Global Communications, and Seefeel, plus the crew behind a wicked new label out of Tokyo called Sublime, which has already released Cds and 7" by artists like Ken Ishi with a Dan Curtin record due in the fall.. I wish Akin had been there, because irdial proved once again that it is a strong contender for world domination with the release of another smokin' In Sync 12".. Among other things I noticed at Watts, the constant sight of surplus irdial records puzzled me.. TELL YOUR SHOPS TO ORDER THEM!!!.. Adam X gets maximum respect, playing an inspiring set at Sputnik V last night.. Prototype 909 also flexed, playing a short, but strong set.. I would have to say that the summers best up and coming label would have to be Sahko out of Finland.. With almost a dozen releases to date, there seems to be no limit to what these guys are capable of.. This has also been a strong summer for Jungle, with artists like 4 hero, deep blue, and tek 9 proving that jungle is a serious, cutting edge form of techno.. Rising High proved us wrong again by releasing a new Bedouin Acent 12" that is truly pushing the boundaries.. I still would like to point out that they haven't payed me anything for Chill Out or Die II!!! I should stop now, but obviously, I've got alot I want to talk about.. Hope to hear from you...
